Maleficent

So Maleficent is the untold story of the villain from Sleeping Beauty. Angelina Jolie plays the lead character Maleficent and does an awesome job by the way. It's not an easy role, Maleficent is a complex character that we all know as the evil fairy witch that cursed the king's daughter and turns into a huge dragon that just starts wrecking shit. Not gonna lie she was probably the scariest disney villain to me growing up. This story though shows Maleficent's side of the story and how she got so angry in the first place. Jolie really does a great job at bringing a new light to the story of sleeping beauty. Her make-up is sweet, especially the eyes, the eyes really make the character.
The cinematography is pretty cool, the animation brings the magical world in the movie to life. Kind of an Avatar feel.
What I did like is that this movie, a Disney movie, makes you root and sympathize with one of they're most iconic villians. Its a fun movie, both kids and adults will enjoy, overall it is well done and a good time.

22 Jump Street

So 22 Jump Street is the sequel to 21 Jump street with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. Most of the original cast is back including Ice Cube. What I like about this movie is that it knows what it is and doesn't deviate from the original. Which is a running joke in this movie by the way. The thing about sequels is that it is a the fine line between staying in touch with the original, but still keeping it feeling new. Unlike the Hangover III. This movie keeps the formula that made 21 Jump Street a success and does it well to where it's still fun. The plot picks up where 21 JS left off and send Scmidt and Jenko to college to, well no big spoiler here, "infiltrate the dealer and find the supplier."
The movie plays up the whole college scene well, the action scenes are fun, the plot is interesting and the dialogue was funny. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum's on screen chemistry  is very good, they play off each other very well and make the movie what it is. Overall 22 Jump Street is a good time. Go see it, if you haven't already. I'm a little late on this one I know.

Jersey Boys Las Vegas

Who doesn't love The Four Seasons? Jersey Boys at The Paris in Las Vegas tells the story of The Four Season, kinda behind the music, only way more awesome. I personally grew up listening and loving The Four Seasons, I think the earliest I can remember hearing Frankie Valli's voice was "Big Girls Don't Cry" I'm the cult classic Dirty Dancing. "Big girls, they don't cry aye aye" great stuff. But anyway, from the moment the show begins you are flooded with doo-wop classics that eventually lead into most of the Four Seasons hits with awesome performances by extremely talented stage performers. The sets are beautifully done and really suck you into the story. I laughed, sung along under my breath, don't wanna piss anyone off, and even cried. Amazing performances, beautiful sets, awesome harmonies, overall a just kick ass show that should not be missed if you are in town. Jersey Boys at the Paris in Vegas is a must see.

Rock of Ages Las Vegas

Thank God for Rock! Rock of Ages at The Venetian in Las Vegas is a hilarious, fun filled, rock love story about a small town girl and city boy from south Detroit. Yeah I know. Sweet huh?
The performances are as expected for a Vegas show, awesome voices all the way around and great stage acting. The what's different about this show is that Rock of Ages really gets the crowd involved, rocking along with the show is encouraged and is unavoidable. The live band that is on stage throughout the entire performance is amazing and will melt your face off! The narrator steals the show, his performance is flawless and hilarious. Both leads give awesome performances, amazing singing and acting talents all around. Rock of Ages can be described as just plain FUN. It is the most fun I have had at a show on the strip, I have seen it twice now and would again in a heartbeat. The sets are beautifully done and drag you back into time where Rock rules the airwaves and it's impossible to have too much hair. Every performance in the show was perfect and overall this fun filled show is a must see. Rock of Ages at The Venetian rocks!

How to Train Your Dragon 2

How to Train Your Dragon 2

The sequel to the 2010 animated hit, How to Train Your Dragon 2 brings us back to the island of Berk where Vikings and dragons now live together happily. Everything is awesome and everyone is all, "whoo dragons are awesome!" Then things happen and and we get into the main plot of the movie. Don't worry I'll stay away from that as to not give a away any spoilers. I can say that this movie has everything a movie should have. It has adventure, action, and heart. The humor is witty and the dialogue is all very well written. The cinematography on this movie is amazing, there are times when looking at landscapes that you forget that this is an animation. I swear it's pretty crazy, it really looks like a live action movie at times.
All of the original voice actors are back for this sequel, I don't know about you, but I don't like when sequels change out actors, think the only one that pulled it off was the Iron Man series, seriously I think Don Cheadle killed it as James Rhodes. Anyway, same voice actors and Hiccup isn't a boy anymore he's all grown up Hiccup. The relationship between him and Toothless has grown and would make any pet owner smile. Character growth and the relationships between characters are done very well, you really get invested in them and really care about them.  The writing is just awesome, the dialogue is great and the action scenes are very fun. The only part of this movie that is not awesome, honestly is when the movie ends. Seriously. So overall How to Train Your Dragon 2 is definitely the movie of the summer so far. Adults and kids will both love this movie.
